The Bossier-Shreveport BattleWings fell to the Amarillo Dusters by a score of 53-45 in front of 4,467 rowdy fans at the CenturyTel Center Saturday night. The usually defensive oriented BattleWings could only muster one defensive stop in the game against the Julian Reese lead Duster offense.

While the Amarillo QB didn't post gaudy numbers, he was the model of efficiency completing 22 of 33 passes ,including two touchdown passes, while controlling the pace of the game by controlling the clock. The Dusters offense held onto the football for 39:19 compared to the BattleWings 20:41.

BattleWings QB Gary Cooper and company kept the game close as they kept fighting back to stay within seven points of the Dusters. On the evening, Cooper was 17 of 28 passing with an interception and 7 TD tosses. BattleWings WR Chavis McCollister caught seven passes for 110 yards and 4 TD's and WR Manwell Talbert added another 6 receptions for 68 yards and 3 TD's.

Defensively, the BattleWings was lead by DB Kenneth E. Williams who accounted for 14 total tackles. The stingy secondary of the BattleWings was unable to add their ninth team interception of the season, marking the first time this season the BattleWings defense didn't nab at least 2 interceptions.

The loss drops the BattleWings to 2-2 on the season as they get ready for a three week stretch that will take them to South Texas, Tulsa, and Washington State.
